My Favorite Snaps from the Taj Mahal

Pictured above: My favorite photo from my visit to the Taj Mahal

There are some cities, sights, and monuments you wait your entire life to visit. You see them on the cover of every history book you have in school, and you can’t imagine actually seeing them face to face. Among these monuments for me are spots like the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China. While traveling through India and China, I knew I couldn’t leave the country without seeing them.

And once you see them, you want to memorialize them through photos. Because I don’t collect souvenirs (other than a postcard from each country), photos are the only items I “take” from each place I visit. This makes them all the more special to me, and I like to return to them every so often. Sometimes I even forget just how incredible a place was, how much I loved an outfit, how I felt during that travel day, or other small details that come back to me through photos.

Recently, I decided to return to the photos I took while in India during my visit in September 2019. Here are some of my favorite photos I took at the Taj Mahal.

Final Thoughts

I don’t think I ever realized just how massive the Taj Mahal is or how many other structures surround it. As this may be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, I love that I have these photos to remind myself of what it felt like to walk down those paths and feel so small in such a grand place.
